AIGF makes rapid strides with the the Pro Series initiative

With the launch of Pro Series, an initiative aimed at creating awareness on Skill Gaming which includes Poker, Rummy and Fantasy Sports, the All India Gaming Federation (AIGF), an apex body for Gaming in India, has kick started an array of activities including educational events, familiarity trips and workshops. Through this initiative, AIGF aims to familiarize Skill Gaming amongst key classes of media, judiciary and other stakeholders as also to drive a point of preponderance of skill in these Games. Pro Series is also an extension to Skill Game Charters launched by AIGF.

The inaugural edition of Pro Series event was held in Goa on 4th Sept, 2018 at Deltin Royale. The event comprised of a MASTERCLASS involving some of India’s best Poker Pros including Nikita Luther, Kunal Patni & Aditya Agarwal who emphasized and demonstrated that Poker is a mind sport requiring skill, mathematics, decision making and grit. Other industry experts who covered key topics were Mr. Manish J Adnani, Business Head (Poker), Delta Corp., Mr. Roland Landers, CEO, AIGF, Mr. Madhav Gupta of Baadshah Gaming and Mr. Sudhir Kamat from 9Stacks.The event was followed by a Q & A session and an experiential Poker session with the media fraternity.

Following the success of this event, AIGF was a part of another educational conference hosted by the Delhi Judicial Academy (DJA) on 5th Oct, 2018 to discuss Regulations in Skill Gaming with a special focus on Poker.

AIGF was represented by CEO Roland Landers, Essel Group Vice President Sunil Krishnamurthy, Gowree Gokhale from Nishith Desai Associates, AIGF advisor Deepak Dhayanithy and Muskan Sethi, AIGF Responsible Gaming Brand Ambassador. The AIGF panel explained the sessions court judges the latest developments in the Gaming industry as well a case of the skill based games to be exempted from state statute was put forth by the AIGF panel.

On the event, Roland Landers, CEO, AIGF was quoted saying “AIGF is delighted to get the opportunity to present the session on behalf of the online skill gaming industry at the DJA. The session was interactive and gave a great platform to highlight why online games of skill should ideally be governed by a national gaming commission’ instead of state laws.”

Muskan Sethi, India’s first lady of Poker, who was also awarded by the President of India for her contribution to the game also addressed the queries raised by the judicial gathering, clearing
misconceptions about Poker.

Coming soon:  As a follow-up to these two events, AIGF will soon be launching an exclusive web series called ‘Pro Series 2 – The Masterstrokes, which will cover exclusive insights from the experts on some of the most frequently asked questions about Skill Gaming.
